CLASS DESCRIPTION

Participants will be given an overview of the basic supplies and tools used in Encaustic painting and learn a variety of techniques including incising, collage, image transfers, mixing paint, creating texture, and working with stencils. We will discuss creative goals and use prompts from our surroundings as creative guidance. There will be group conversation, one-on-one instruction, and time for individual self-reflection. You will develop your intuition through the creative process and practice. Participants will create a minimum of four works of art and leave with the confidence to continue the exploration of encaustic painting.
