My Cairns series is inspired by encounters with ancient rock formations, standing stones, and manmade monuments—remnants of history that have guided, marked, and mystified humanity for centuries. During my travels to Scotland, England, Ireland, and the North Shore of Lake Superior, I have been drawn to these structures, from towering megaliths to delicate stacks of pebbles and beach glass.

These formations, often used as landmarks, burial mounds, or ceremonial sites aligned with the stars, embody both strength and fragility. They are feats of artistry and engineering, balancing power and precision. Through my process of representing cairns and standing stones, I connect with the mysteries of our collective past while affirming the enduring links we share across time.
